Eastern States Cup Weekend Information
Highland is hosting the Eastern States Cup this weekend. The park remains open to the public, but guests should expect increased traffic both on and off the mountain. In preparation for the upcoming weekend of racing there will be a few closures to trails to accommodate the race course. Upper Happy Hour will be partially closed, allowing access to Eastern Hemlock and Shillelagh. Upper Jack Rabbit Run will be closed for the race, lower Jack Rabbit Run will be open via Maiden Voyage.
What to Expect
- Racer camping will be in effect Thursday through Sunday.
- Parking patterns and traffic flow will be modified to accommodate campers, racers, and spectators.
- The base area will be busier than normal throughout the weekend.
- Please follow all parking attendant directions and allow extra time for arrival.
Riding During the Event
The mountain remains open to public riding. Riders can expect increased trail traffic as competitors practice and race throughout the weekend. Please ride within your ability and stay aware of other trail users.
Freebird Jump Jam
Join us Saturday from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM for a Jump Jam on Freebird. Stop by after racing wraps up to watch riders throw down tricks and enjoy an evening session with the Highland community.

Eastern States Cup Schedule | June 19-21
The Eastern States Cup returns to Highland June 19-21. Expect a full race weekend atmosphere across the mountain with increased traffic in the parking lots, base area, and on trail. Please review the weekend schedule below before your visit.
Friday, June 19
- Lift spins 9AM – 7PM
- Passes available onsite from Highland Mountain
- 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM: Lift spins, track open to the public
Saturday, June 20
- Lift spins 9AM – 5PM
- 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM: Registration
- 9:00 AM – 2:45 PM: Open Intense DH Practice
- 3:00 PM – 4:00 PM (approx.): Seeding Runs for Expert / Pro / 50+
- 4:00 PM – 5:00 PM (approx.): Amateur Only Intense DH Practice
Sunday, June 21
Lift Ticket Included with Registration
- Lift Spins 8AM – 5PM
- 8:00 AM – 8:30 AM: Late Registration
- 8:00 AM – 10:45 AM: Intense DH Practice
- 11:00 AM: Intense DH Race Start
Please Note: Practice and race start times may be adjusted earlier depending on racer turnout.
