It’s hard to believe, but these long sunny days don’t lie: summer is here! Highland will be open 9am to 5pm on Monday, May 27 for Memorial Day, after which the lift will spin seven days a week.

Trail Crew has been working nonstop getting trails up and running for the new season! Read on for more details about where they’ve been on the mountain lately:

Ropes dropped last week on Upper Happy Hour and Lower Hellion. Trail Crew made some changes to that infamous rock slab corner on Upper Happy Hour, so be sure to do some recon before dropping in for the first time this year. You have a lot more line choices than ever before: pre-ride, re-ride, freeride!

Lower Hellion is open and running great! It is currently accessible via Eastern Hemlock off of Upper Happy Hour. Only that short connecting section of Eastern is open—please respect all ropes and signage, not just for your own safety but also the safety of our crew.

All of the terrain in Central Park is open, and we’re very excited to be entering our first full season with that new section of the mountain.

The surface lift will be operating on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays—whenever the surface lift is not running, you can still access Central Park via uphill travel on Whippoorwill. New this season, Central Park is also accessible from the summit via Reef Around.

The strider zone at the base of Central Park is still a work in progress. Stay tuned!

This week, the Trail Crew has been out working on Lower Happy Hour. Once they’re finished there they plan to move onto either Meadows End or Shillelagh (depending on weather conditions). Rob and Jamie have also started work on the dirt jumps in Lower Sherwood!

You can keep an eye on our Conditions page for the latest updates regarding trail work and new openings. We typically start sharing the crew’s plan for the week on Tuesdays!

Our 2024 rental fleet is live online and ready to be booked in your name! Adult and youth bikes are available for full-day rentals and two-hour demos. Check out what we have to offer online, then take one for a spin!

Space is extremely limited in certain sessions, but there’s still time to join us for Summer Ride or Ayr Academy this summer! Make new friends, hone your skills, and learn from the best with days and days of Highland laps. Day camp and overnight programs for riders ages 8 to 16.
