Join the Highland Camps team and help lead the next generation of riders to new heights.

Ready to spend the summer outdoors? Looking for a job that can get you on a bike every day? Look no further: we’re seeking motivated and interesting individuals to join our Highland Camps team as coaches and/or overnight counselors.

The Highland Camps experience is unlike any other. Campers in third through twelfth grade descend on the mountain from around the globe, enrolling in multi-day or weeklong camp sessions. We ride all day everyday, taking full advantage of Highland’s lift-accessed trails and training facilities. Campers learn from professional coaches, guest pro riders, and each other—you’ll be amazed by the progression on display by the end of each week.

Camp runs from late June to early August. You’ll spend five weeks living and working at the best mountain on the East Coast, leading a new generation of riders to the next level. Kids come to camp with a wide spectrum of skills and abilities, and they all leave at the end of the week as better riders. It’s likely you will, too.

Camp Staff Requirements:

  • Completion of the Highland Camps online training program through the ACA
  • Attendance at Highland Camps Staff Orientation
  • First Aid and CPR training and certification
  • Clean criminal record and legal ability to work in the United States

Campers and counselors are housed on Tilton School’s historic campus, just a few miles away from the bike park. Counselors work overnight, typically from 4:30pm to 9:00am at minimum. (Don’t worry, there’s plenty of time to sleep at night!) You’ll have access to Tilton’s exercise and recreation facilities, as well as their dining hall.

Camp Counselor Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Plan and oversee camper activities
  • Ensure camper safety and monitor their activities
  • Set up recreation equipment; ensure equipment is secure and stored properly
  • Supervise campers during meals
  • Instruct campers in daily routines and cleanup tasks
  • Follow safety and emergency procedures and guidelines

While camp is about riding more than anything, that’s not all we do. The fun doesn’t slow down in the evening, and it doesn’t all happen on two wheels. If you’re a dodgeball sniper, ping pong wizard, or pool shark looking to pit your skills against some unsuspecting twelve-year-olds, you’ll have plenty of chances to play the field.

Think you have what it takes to join the Highland Camps team? We’re ready to hear from you. Previous experience in counseling, teaching, coaching, or childcare-related fields is preferred, but not necessary. Most important is your ability to work well with others and serve as a positive role model for our campers. (A healthy love of bikes certainly never hurts.) Send us an application today!
