March is upon us, and you know what that means…we get to start reminding everyone that Opening Day is next month!
Our anticipated 2023 opening dates are April 26 for season pass holders, and April 27 for the general public.
We will start offering pre-season sessions in the HTC on the first Saturday in April. 2023 Season Passes are still available at the discounted winter price until opening day. Prices go up in-season.
(Season Pass Holders, don’t forget that you get discounted day passes at Ragged Mountain Resort in Danbury, NH! Ragged is a great local ski mountain where you’re guaranteed to run into some of your Highland Family during the winter season.)
As always, we’ve spent the winter chipping away at a list of mountain improvement projects. One of the first changes you’ll notice when you’re driving back up to the mountain is a newly cleared space on your right, close to the XC network trailhead.
It doesn’t look like much now, but once the snow has melted and our crew can finish leveling the ground, this area is going to serve as a secondary parking lot! We (and, presumably, our neighbors on Ski Hill Drive) are looking forward to eliminating the need to park cars down the road on our busiest days.
You may also catch a glimpse of a new structure behind the trail crew building–we’ve been building a dedicated woodshop to better serve the crew’s various construction projects.
Further up the hill, more progress is being made on the surface lift installation in Central Park! At this stage, we’re working on building the top and bottom lift shacks and putting in barriers on either side of the carpet.
We’re so incredibly stoked to finally be opening up the new-and-improved Central Park this season. No official date has been decided (it will still need some work done in the spring!) but trust us, you’ll be hearing a lot about it when the time comes. The new Central Park features green, blue, black, and double-black flow trails, with some exciting features we’re looking forward to sharing with you all. It’s going to be another great area of the mountain for progression!
Inside the main lodge, we’re installing some new counter seating along the windows facing the backyard, upgrading the office view for those of you working remotely 😉
The Highland Pub has been going strong all winter, experimenting with new specials and upgrading some of our classic menu items. The Pub is open from 11am-8pm Thursday through Sunday throughout the off season, with Happy Hour from 3pm to 6pm on Thursdays and Fridays. Come say hi, try some specials, and hang out by the wood stove for a while!
As we prepare for another season, we’re once again hiring across all departments. Most positions start hiring at 16, but there are some opportunities for younger applicants. Apply online today, or stop by our 2023 Job Fair in the main lodge on Saturday, March 18th to meet the management team and learn more about working (and playing!) at Highland.
