(Northfield, NH) – Highland Mountain is proud to announce that registration for the 3rd Annual Claymore Challenge is now open. Set to take place on July 14-17th, the Claymore Challenge is arguably the favorite event of the year, marrying the thrill of downhill and slopestyle with the love of music. Top professional freeriders from all over the world will descend on Highland’s coveted Claymore Challenge course.

Vancouver native and Jamis/Rock Star pro freerider, Jordie Lunn explains, “The Claymore Challenge is a great event! The Highland team has built a world-class course on an amazing mountain. This event is a must stop for all the pros.”
The signature Claymore course is like no other course in the US, with a course built and designed by Pro Freerider Dave Smutok. Smutok’s creativity and desire to push the limits shows in the course construction. “Each year I get more psyched on the course, this year we re-worked my least favorite section of the course and now it’s my favorite section. We changed one feature and then added two dirt dishes back to back, I think it really adds to the flow and I can’t wait to see what goes down on them,” explains Smutok.
If you’re not up to taking on the pros in slopestyle not to worry the event is completely FREE to spectators, take a seat in Highland’s “Backyard” kick back in the beer garden, grab a burger and watch the madness go down. Tradition is the word at Highland. The winner of the Claymore is traditionally “knighted” by owner, Mark Hayes, then thrown into Highland’s infamous beaver pond by his fellow competitors. Hayes explains, “The Claymore Challenge was created to showcase the raw talent of today’s bike athlete. We blended an intense competition with a chill festival vibe to get more people hooked. It truly is an honor to hand over the Claymore sword to the world’s most talented rider.”
If you can’t make the trek to Highland to check out the action, not to worry, DH-Productions has you covered with a LIVE webcast on the day of the event.
