Highland Mountain Am/Open Slopestyle Series is designed to address the growing need for a safe progression in freeride competition. The Series allows amateurs the opportunity to climb the slopestyle ladder in an environment catered towards the progression of the sport. The Highland Slopestyle Series will have two stops for 2009, June 27th and August 8th. Each event has two categories; first is an amateur category directed for beginners and intermediate riders and second is an open which is for advanced and highly skilled riders who need to be given a chance to climb through the ranks. Classes:
Amateur - Open to all competitors from beginner to intermediate riders who have not had many opportunities to compete in slopestyle contests.
Open – This category is for riders who have experience in slopestyle/freestyle contests and for any highly skilled riders looking to step up their riding and try to compete at the top competitive level.
Format:
All registered riders will have plenty of designated practice time, once practice is over a Jam Session will start. During the scheduled Jam Session riders will take full course runs one at a time to be scored. Riders can take as many or as few runs as they choose, just wait in line and shred.
Amateur Jam Session - 2hr scheduled Jam where riders will take full course runs one at a time during Jam time. Amateur results are based off Jam Session– no finals
Open Qualifying Jam - 2hr scheduled jam where riders will take full course runs one at a time during the Jam time. Riders can take as many or few runs as they choose, just wait in line and shred.
Open Finals - The Finals will consist of the top 10 scores from the qualifying jam session. Those 10 riders will take two full course runs in reverse order of qualifying score. The best run of the two will count toward the final.

Friday 7th 10am-5pm Registration.
2pm-7pm Open Practice-(pending on weather)
Saturday 8th
9am-11am Registration 9am-12:30pm – Open Course Practice
12:30pm- Mandatory riders meeting at Freebird
1:00pm- 3:00pm – Amateur Jam Session
3:15 – 5:15 – Open Jam Session
5:30 – Open Finals
Awards right after Finals
Registration comes with lift/park pass for Friday 7th & Saturday 8th only
