Jumps

Section of new Jump Trail is open, connecting Shillelagh and Maiden Voyage.  It is a little tricky to find, its a hard right off shillelagh shortly after the switchbacks and wood bridge.  The future jump trail will extend top to bottom, but for now get a taste with the middle section. The section isn't completed with all the planned features yet either, just a few.  Check out some views.

Trails

Meadows End -- new beginner trail

Meadows End is a brand new beginner trail riders left off the top of fancy feast.  To get to it start down fancy and a few turns in you will see the new trail head on the left.  The entire trail is machine built, smooth banked corners and mellow grade.  Its a great trail to learn some fundamentals of downhill riding on.

Hear are some pictures of what the trail looks like from top of Highland to bottom.

Whistler Airdome

Its been raining in Whistler the past two days so today I went up to the airdome to ride.  The airdome session was full; 30 riders is the max number and when you’re in there it feels crowded.  Even with a full session it was awesome; there are many new changes since last year.  You can see in the photos there is a big box line, small box line, and foam pit with a drop line which is sick.

Tomorrow I am heading over to Vancouver Island for the Bearclaw Invitational.  Check out bearclawinvitational.com

Crankworx 2008

Crankworx has stepped it up again.  There was a best trick contest last Thursday and it was unreal; Greg Watts landed a ground breaking flipwhip off the big step down. Cam McCaul landed and superflip and many other riders were cork flipping and tailwhipping the step down as well.  Check out a few pictures of the nastiness.

Here is a view of the jumbotron half way up the slopestyle course.

Friday night was the premier of DH-Productions’ new movie, Lattitudes.  The whole place was packed and Highland Mountain scored the closing section in the movie which is a big honor. The movie should be out this fall, it is a must for your library. Keep checking dh-productions.com for that.

The slopestyle was very impressive, this year had a deep field and with only 8 making it into the finals, some great riders and runs didn’t make it to finals.  Go to crankworx.com check out some highlights video.
